Mark Rodney, PA-C

I was born and raised in Cleveland Heights, and after years of studying, working, and living abroad, I'm grateful to be caring for patients back in the community that shaped me.

Before becoming a Physician Assistant, I worked as an Arabic medical interpreter and community health worker, helping refugees and immigrant families navigate the healthcare system. Those experiences taught me that the most important healing begins with listening, trust, and genuine human connection.

I later earned my Physician Assistant degree from Case Western Reserve University and found my professional home in Family Medicine. I love caring for people through every stage of life and building relationships that deepen over time.

I have spent my career as a PA working at MetroHealth, serving some of the most vulnerable and complex patients in the Cleveland area. I managed my own panel of over 1500 patients independently alongside my physician, NP and PA colleagues.

What I enjoy most is helping patients work through the challenges that often lie beneath symptoms—stress, habits, relationships, purpose, and the demands of everyday life. While lab tests, medications and other medical tools are a vital part of healthcare, I am equally passionate about helping people improve their health through lifestyle changes, a deeper understanding of their mind and body, and a partnership built on trust.

Direct Primary Care allows me to practice medicine the way I believe it should be practiced: with time to listen, time to connect, and time to truly know my patients.

My approach to care

My relationship with patients is a partnership. I make decisions with you, not for you.

I take the time to understand your goals, your values, and what gives your life meaning. My role is to provide clear, up-to-date medical guidance, help you navigate complex healthcare decisions, and support you in building a healthier life in a way that aligns with what matters most to you.

My practice reflects a range of medical philosophies, including Integrative Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine. These approaches recognize that diet, exercise, sleep, stress management, social connection, and other lifestyle factors play a powerful role in preventing and treating disease. In the Direct Primary Care model, I have the time to incorporate these factors into every aspect of care—from annual wellness visits and chronic disease management to helping you navigate a new symptom or health concern.
