Membership FAQs

What is included in the monthly membership?

Your membership includes convenient, timely access to office visits, direct communication with your provider via phone or secure messaging, wholesale pricing on many labs and services, and longer appointments designed around your health needs - not the clock.

How does this differ from traditional medical practices?

Unlike traditional clinics, I don't bill insurance. This allows me to focus entirely on you, providing longer visits, same-day appointments, and a deeply personal provider-patient relationship without a middleman setting limits on what a PCP can do.

Is this health insurance?

No. A membership with Heights Hometown Health is not health insurance. It provides direct access to personalized primary care services for a monthly membership fee. We recommend that members maintain health insurance or another form of coverage for services outside of our office, such as hospitalizations, emergency care, specialists, and major procedures..

Do I need to have health insurance to become a member?

No. You can become a member whether you have health insurance or not. Many members use their insurance for emergencies, specialists, medications, and hospital care while using Heights Hometown Health for their primary care needs.

Can I cancel my membership at any time?

Absolutely. I believe in earning your trust every month. There are no long-term contracts, though we do ask for a 30-day notice if you decide to leave our family of patients.

Are there fees for lab and imaging tests?

Yes. Lab work and imaging are not included in your monthly membership fee, but your membership gives you access to discounted, transparent pricing through local lab and imaging partners. Because these services are arranged outside of the traditional insurance system, pricing is often significantly more affordable, with no surprise bills or delays waiting for insurance approval. I will help you find the most cost-effective option when these services are needed.

What is included in my monthly membership?

Your membership includes comprehensive primary care with extended visits, same or next-day appointments when available, virtual visits, secure messaging, preventive care, chronic disease management, medication management, care coordination, and common in-office procedures.

Are there additional fees for office visits?

No. Your membership includes office visits without additional visit fees or copays. You can schedule appointments when you need care without worrying about unexpected charges for each visit.

How quickly can I get an appointment?

Our goal is to provide same-day or next-business-day appointments whenever possible. Because we intentionally limit our membership size, we are able to offer more timely and personalized access than traditional primary care practices.

Can I contact you between visits?

Yes. Members have access to secure messaging and communication options for questions, follow-up, medication concerns, and guidance between visits.

What happens if I need care outside of normal office hours?

If you have an urgent medical concern outside of office hours, you can contact the practice for guidance when available. For emergencies or life-threatening situations, please call 911 or seek emergency care.

Can my HSA/FSA be used for membership fees?

It is often possible to use HSA or FSA accounts to pay for membership fees. Eligibility depends on your specific plan and circumstances, so we recommend confirming with your HSA/FSA administrator or tax professional.
